Terence was born in Leicester but spent the majority of his childhood in the Middle East, as has father was a Pipeline Engineer working in Iran, Kuwait and Oman.

Terence read politics at the University of Liverpool before gaining a Post Graduate Diploma from the Chartered Institute of Marketing. He began his career as an Account Manager in IT before changing direction to become a head-hunter specialising in the IT industry.

Terence was elected to the District Council in 2003 and is currently part of the Executive team with responsibility for Public Engagement. He represents Trinity Ward Ware on both Town and District Councils. Terence currently has the privilege and honour of being the Mayor of Ware for the Civic Year 2006/07.

Before becoming Chairman at the AGM in March 2006, Terence had served as Deputy Chairman Membership for the previous two years.
